Utility Surveyor
Location: Barnsley | Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 per annum | Sector: Utility Surveying
The Role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Utility Surveyor to join a growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for locating buried services and leading a small survey team, with additional tasks including office-based processing of 3D GPR data and CAD drafting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys to identify and map underground utilities
- Lead and manage a small team of surveyors
- Process and analyse 3D GPR data
- Draft plans using AutoCAD software
- Utilise electromagnetic frequency locators for tracing services
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of survey results
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
Requirements
- Relevant industry qualification in surveying or a related field
- Proven experience in utility surveying
- Proficiency in using GPR systems, specifically Leica DS200
- Experience with Vivax VlocPro3 or similar EMFL equipment
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
