Job Title – Beam Saw Operator
Site location – St Helens
Responsible to – Production Manager
    
Purpose of the role – Depending on experience to either load and operate the Beam Saw machinery on site ensuring the timely production of materials for clients whilst ensuring quality at all times and if skilled to, to set the machines also.
    
Client brief - Our client is a large well renowned family-owned business in Manufacturing products based in St Helens and supply the retail trade and builders merchants across the UK.
    
    
KEY INFORMATION
    
Reason for vacancy – Increased demand
Contract – Permanent
Hourly Rate - £13.00ph - £14.50ph depending on experience
Shifts – Monday to Friday days only, 8am-5.30pm (1 hour deducted for lunch per day)
Holidays – Holiday accrual whilst temp, 28 days inc bank holidays when perm
Facilities – Fantastic facilities on site, very clean and tidy office environment, kitchen/canteen, vending machines, free parking
    
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
    
The role - Our client is looking for Beam Saw Operators to support their existing team at their Production facility in St Helens.
As a Beam Saw Operator you will be working both alone and as part of a team with efficiency and commitment to complete your work and strive to maintain the business performance targets. Generalist responsibilities are as follows –
  
· Setting and operating the Beam Saw and other machinery on site when trained
· Ensure a smooth and on time delivery of materials to various factory departments.
· Ensure that materials are to correct specification to meet customer requirements.
· Use paperwork to carry out specific detailed tasks (labels, drawings & specifications)
· Quality checking and fault identification
· Following Health and Safety procedures.
· Being flexible in your approach to work

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED 
This role best suits upbeat and self-motivated individuals who enjoy working systematically and productively. The fast paced and energised environment relies on organisation and efficiency and with so much ground to cover in the line of duty it is important to ensure that you have a moderate level of fitness to enable you to comfortably carry out your tasks. 
 

• Experienced Beam Saw Operator AND/OR Setting
• Experience of working in a proactive production team and commitment to continuous improvement
• Good organisational skills

• Literacy & numeracy
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, lifting products up to 20KG.
