Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Barnsley
Full-Time | EYFS – Year 6

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity?

We are currently seeking a dedicated HLTA to work full-time in a primary school in Barnsley, supporting teaching and learning across all year groups, from EYFS through to Year 6.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a flexible, proactive and passionate education professional who enjoys working with children of different ages and abilities and can confidently support learning across the primary curriculum.

The Role

• Working full-time across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, from Reception to Year 6.
• Delivering pre-planned lessons and covering classes in the teacher’s absence.
• Supporting teachers with planning, preparation and assessment where required.
• Providing targeted support to individuals and small groups to help raise attainment.
• Maintaining a positive, safe and engaging learning environment.
• Adapting learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with different abilities.
• Supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff across the school.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or has relevant equivalent experience.
• Has experience working within a primary school setting.
• Is confident supporting learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Has strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Is adaptable, organised and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Is passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
