About the role
Family-run, leading CAD/CAM tooling solutions company, established 80 years, seeks two CNC Programmers/Setters (Offline) to program and set a wide variety of tooling. Joining a long-serving team who are passionate about providing a first-class service to their customers, you will be responsible for creating high-quality offline programmes, whilst providing a personal, hands-on approach to each tool manufactured.
The successful candidate must be an experienced hyperMILL (OPEN MIND) or Autodesk PowerMILL user. You should be self-motivated, able to work independently and willing to make your own decisions on how best to machine a job. Offered as a permanent contract, the role of CNC Programmer/Setter offers market competitive salary plus overtime opportunities and immediate start available.
CNC Programmer/Setter duties include:
- Create high-quality offline milling programs using hyperMILL or PowerMILL software for 3-axis and 5-axis machines
- Program and set a wide variety of tooling in a range of different materials such as tooling board models, aluminium moulds & tools, cast-iron patterns and coreboxes
- Be responsible for your own dedicated offline CAD/CAM workstation
- Conducting quality assurance and safety checks on all tooling
- Develop CNC programs for machining parts based on engineering drawings and specification
- Interpreting project blueprints
Skills and attributes required by successful candidate for the role of CNC Programmer/Setter
- Hands-on experience creating offline programs using either hyperMILL or PowerMILL
- Comprehensive understanding of multi-axis machining – the company’s 3-axis machines run on Heidenhain controls and the 5-axis machines run on Fanuc controls
- Able to work under pressure
- Have the skills & capabilities to work to the required standards
- Be adaptable and be willing to go the extra mile to meet tight deadlines
Location: Willenhall, West Midlands
Hours of work: 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 12:30pm Friday
Salary: £18 to £20 per hour – dependent upon experience
Overtime available @ time and a third
