About the role
Housing Support Officer - Move On Accommodation
Across Redhill, Horley and surrounding Surrey locations £30,940 per annum 35 hours per week | Monday-Friday Full Time | Permanent
About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Housing Support Officer to join a Move On Accommodation Service supporting young people as they transition towards independent living.
The service operates across four dispersed accommodation sites throughout Surrey and supports young people who require lower levels of intervention but still benefit from structured housing-related support.
This role is heavily focused on support planning, engagement and tenancy sustainment. You'll work with approximately 44 residents across multiple sites, providing a minimum of five hours of support per week to help individuals achieve their goals and successfully maintain their accommodation.
We're looking for someone who understands supported housing and can confidently support young people with practical issues such as benefits, budgeting, employment, education, wellbeing and preparing for independent tenancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of residents across multiple accommodation sites.
- Deliver weekly support sessions focused on agreed goals and outcomes.
- Develop and review support plans, action plans and risk assessments.
- Support residents with benefits, budgeting, education, employment and tenancy readiness.
- Help young people build the skills needed to move on successfully into independent accommodation.
- Maintain accurate records in line with Ofsted and organisational requirements.
- Liaise with local authorities, social workers and external professionals.
- Monitor resident progress and ensure support interventions are outcome-focused.
- Travel regularly between accommodation sites across Surrey.
- Ensure all documentation, reporting and compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience within supported housing, supported accommodation, homelessness services, housing associations or a related support environment.
- Experience supporting vulnerable young people or adults.
- Experience creating and reviewing support plans.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits, tenancy sustainment and independent living support.
- Strong administration and compliance skills.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload across multiple locations.
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
