DescriptionA growing technology business is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer on a full time permanent basis to develop and improve products used in demanding operational environments. You will take ownership of engineering work packages, producing detailed CAD models and drawings while working closely with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines to move designs from concept through to production

What you will be doing:
- Develop mechanical designs and engineering solutions across the product lifecycle
- Produce accurate 3D CAD models, technical drawings and supporting documentation
- Apply appropriate tolerancing, materials and manufacturing considerations
- Work with manufacturing colleagues to resolve design and production issues
- Participate in design reviews and respond to technical feedback
- Manage engineering changes and maintain configuration control
- Support prototyping, testing and iterative design improvements
- Contribute to engineering standards and processes as the business grows
What we are looking for:
- Relevant mechanical engineering or product design experience
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling and technical drawing
- Understanding of engineering tolerances, material selection and manufacturing processes
- Ability to work collaboratively across design, production and other engineering functions
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience taking designs through prototyping, testing and production would be advantageous
- Eligibility for the relevant UK security clearance requirements
