About the role
Are you a skilled communications and engagement professional with a passion for climate change and sustainability?
We are seeking a proactive and creative Climate Change Communications & Engagement Officer to join a local authority team on an initial 3-month contract.
In this role, you will lead the delivery of communications and engagement activity that supports the council's climate change and sustainability agenda.
Working closely with both climate change and communications teams, you will develop campaigns, manage stakeholder engagement, coordinate events, create engaging digital and print content, and help drive behavioural change across local communities and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver climate change communications and engagement campaigns.
Create content for digital, web, social media and print channels.
Organise and facilitate stakeholder and community engagement events.
Support volunteer and ambassador programmes.
Manage and promote sustainability branding initiatives.
Build relationships with community groups, partners and key stakeholders.
About You
Experience in communications, engagement, public affairs or stakeholder engagement.
Strong written communication and campaign management skills.
Knowledge of climate change, sustainability or environmental issues.
Experience of digital communications, website content management and event delivery.
Ability to engage and influence a wide range of audiences.
What's on Offer?
Initial 3-month contract with potential for extension.
Hybrid working arrangement with attendance in the Fleet office twice-weekly (some flexibility available).
