The School
Long Term Futures is proud to be working in partnership with a small specialist school within the Newark area. The school is looking for two teaching assistants on a Temp to Perm contract. The school proudly supports young people aged 2–19, providing a safe and nurturing environment for pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties and complex needs, including autism, SEMH, and challenging behaviours. Every pupil has an EHCP, which sits at the heart of a personalised curriculum delivered through carefully tailored pathways.
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, your personality is key in getting the best out of the learners. Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team, you’ll contribute to creating a calm, structured, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive. Their curriculum is designed to foster emotional wellbeing, meaningful engagement, and strong relationships, empowering young people to believe in themselves and their future.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in education, childcare, or health & social care.
- Experience in a special school, SEN unit, or SEND role.
- Confidence supporting pupils with autism, SEMH, and communication needs.
- A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach with strong teamwork skills.
- A genuine commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
