HR Manager
South Down - Supporting NI and ROI
High-Growth Brand | People Leadership | Career Progression
MCS Group is partnering exclusively with a rapidly expanding, award-winning brand to appoint an HR Manager on a full-time, permanent basis.
Having tripled turnover over the past three years, the organisation now employs approximately 200 people across multiple sites in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. With further growth planned, this is an opportunity to lead and develop an HR team while building your own career within an ambitious business.
Reporting to the Head of HR, you will combine hands-on HR delivery with a strong focus on people management, team development and building leadership capability across the organisation. As the brand grows, there will be scope to broaden your responsibilities and progress within the organisation.
The Role
As HR Manager, you will lead, coach and develop the HR team, setting clear priorities and ensuring a consistent, responsive service across the business.
Alongside managing your team, you will work closely with operational managers to strengthen their people management skills, improve performance and support employee development. You will also partner with the Head of People & Culture to put the wider people strategy into practice, taking ownership of initiatives that support the organisation's continued growth.
This role offers meaningful responsibility from the outset, with scope to shape how the HR function develops as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop the HR team, setting objectives, managing performance and supporting individual development.
Oversee day-to-day HR delivery, allocating workloads and ensuring a consistent service across multiple sites.
Build people management capability across the business through practical coaching, guidance and management development initiatives.
Support managers with employee relations, performance management and employee development.
Work with the Head of HR to deliver the people strategy in line with business priorities.
Develop and embed talent management, succession planning and career development frameworks.
Partner with hiring managers on recruitment and workforce planning to support continued expansion.
Drive employee engagement initiatives and strengthen the employee experience and employer brand.
Ensure HR policies and processes are applied consistently across the organisation.
Take ownership of people projects and improvements as the HR function and wider business evolve.
The Person
We are seeking an experienced HR professional who enjoys managing and developing people, takes ownership and thrives in a growing business.
You will bring:
Proven experience as an HR Manager, People & Culture Manager or Senior HR Business Partner, with direct line management responsibility.
A track record of coaching and developing a team, managing performance and delivering through others.
Experience supporting managers to build their confidence and capability in people management.
Experience within a fast-paced, multi-site or scaling organisation.
Strong knowledge of employee relations, talent management and people development.
The confidence to influence stakeholders, challenge constructively and provide practical solutions.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance operational priorities with longer-term projects.
Ideally, exposure to both NI and ROI employment legislation, although this is not essential.
A CIPD qualification, or be working towards one.
The Package
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, alongside the opportunity to manage and develop an HR team within a high-growth brand.
Working closely with the Head of HR, you will gain exposure to wider strategic priorities and have scope to take on greater responsibility as the business expands. The role offers a clear development pathway for the right candidate.
