Uffington C of E Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and efficient Part-Time School Administrator to join our welcoming and supportive team.

At Uffington, our vision is simple: Everyone Matters. We are proud of our caring school community, where every member of school is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.

We are looking for someone who will be a warm and welcoming first point of contact for our families, visitors and wider community, while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our busy school office.

Working closely with the Headteacher, Finance Officer and wider school team, the successful candidate will undertake a varied and rewarding role combining school administration, pupil welfare and lunchtime supervision.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a friendly, professional welcome to parents, pupils and visitors, including answering telephone calls and managing enquiries.
  • Supporting the day-to-day administration of the school, including emails, correspondence, filing and record keeping.
  • Maintaining accurate pupil records and supporting administrative systems, including attendance registers and school meals.
  • Preparing and distributing the school's weekly newsletter and other communications.
  • Supporting routine financial administration and the organisation of school resources.
  • Assisting with pupil welfare and first aid, including communicating with parents and staff.
  • Helping to organise school events, visits and activities.
  • Undertaking lunchtime supervision, ensuring children are safe, happy and supported during their lunch break.
  • Supporting the school's safeguarding procedures and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm, welcoming and positive manner.
  • Is highly organised, efficient and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Has good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and digital systems.
  • Works accurately and pays close attention to detail.
  • Can use their initiative, work independently and contribute positively to a small team.
  • Is calm, flexible and able to respond sensitively to the needs of children and families.
  • Enjoys working with children and is committed to their wellbeing and safety.
  • Shares our Christian vision and school values of Love, Respect and Resilience.

Previous experience in school administration would be an advantage, but we also welcome applications from candidates with relevant administrative experience in other settings. Training and support will be provided.

What we can offer

  • A friendly, welcoming and supportive school community.
  • A small village school where every member of staff makes a genuine difference.
  • Enthusiastic children who are a pleasure to work with.
  • A committed and caring staff team.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • A varied role where no two days are quite the same.

We warmly encourage prospective applicants to visit our school and experience what makes Uffington such a special place to work.
