The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Loughborough from November 2026. The school supports pupils aged 4–16 with SEMH needs and EHCPs, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment focused on overcoming barriers to learning, building confidence, and developing independence. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about specialist education to make a genuine difference to young people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Support pupils to access learning through personalised strategies that meet their personal needs.
- As a Learning Support Assistant, you will need to build constructive, trusting relationships that promote positive behaviour, and engagement in learning.
- Assist pupils in developing confidence, resilience, independence, and essential life skills both inside and outside the classroom
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff to help adapt support strategies and intervention plans
Who We’re Looking For:
- Level 3 qualification minimum and essential
- Experience working with SEN students, in either a primary or secondary setting
- Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and students
- As a learning support assistant, you must have a clear commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Someone who can commit to full-time hours, Monday to Friday, 8.40am – 15.40pm with the opportunity to progress into a permanent role.
