About the role
Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2027
Are you an organised and enthusiastic administrator with excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting programmes that improve health outcomes for local communities?
NHS Fife Department of Public Health is seeking an Administration Assistant to support the delivery of our Screening Inequalities programme. This role will provide dedicated administrative and telephone intervention support to help improve engagement with screening services, particularly amongst individuals and communities who experience barriers to participation.
Working within a small and supportive team, you will be responsible for contacting members of the public, arranging appointments, maintaining accurate records, supporting data entry and providing a comprehensive administrative service to the programme. The role requires a professional and compassionate approach, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and organisations.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to work that supports NHS Fife's ambitions to reduce health inequalities, improve screening uptake and contribute to the wider prevention agenda. The post will play an important role in supporting targeted screening activity and the Scottish Government's ambition to eliminate cervical cancer through increased participation in screening programmes.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent telephone and communication skills.
- Is organised, adaptable and able to work on their own initiative.
- Demonstrates attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team environment.
- Is committed to improving outcomes for the people and communities of Fife.

AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your application—but your answers must be your own.
- Show us the real you: Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.
- Use AI wisely: It’s fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don’t let it write your answers.
- Why this matters: Applications that rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn. By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.
Tip: Think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand you—not an AI tool.
