We are seeking an Analytics Governance Analyst to join a major banking organisation and play a key role in the development of a growing Analytics Governance capability within a large-scale Data Office function.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile regulatory and data transformation programme, helping to establish governance standards, improve oversight of analytical assets, and support the organisation's journey towards enhanced data and analytics maturity.
The Opportunity
Working within a collaborative Data Office environment, you will partner with stakeholders across multiple business functions to establish, embed, and enhance analytics governance practices. You'll help ensure key analytics assets are appropriately catalogued, documented, monitored, and aligned with internal policies, regulatory expectations, and industry best practice.
This role offers significant exposure to enterprise-wide initiatives and the opportunity to influence how data and analytics are governed across a complex financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of analytics governance standards, frameworks, and controls.
- Identify, catalogue, and maintain inventories of key analytical assets and end-user computing tools.
- Conduct governance assessments and gap analyses against established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and track remediation activities where improvements are required.
- Maintain accurate governance inventories and associated metadata.
- Support compliance with data and analytics regulatory requirements, including BCBS239 principles.
- Promote awareness and adoption of governance standards across business functions.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels to drive consistency, transparency, and best practice.
- Prepare governance reporting, project updates, and management information for leadership and programme forums.
- Contribute to wider data governance and transformation initiatives across the organisation.
Skills & Experience
We're interested in speaking with individuals who bring experience in some or all of the following areas:
- Analytics Governance, Data Governance, Data Management, or Governance & Controls.
- Governance of End User Computing (EUC) tools and analytical assets.
- BCBS239, regulatory data governance, or risk data management frameworks.
- Financial Services, Banking, Capital Markets, or regulated environments.
- Governance tooling such as Collibra, Apparity, or similar platforms.
- Stakeholder engagement and influencing across complex organisations.
- Developing governance frameworks, standards, policies, or operating models.
- Project delivery within Agile and/or Waterfall environments.
- Understanding of analytics, reporting, data management, or software development lifecycles.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or enterprise analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of data lineage, data quality, and metadata management.
- Experience supporting self-service analytics governance initiatives.
- Experience working on large-scale regulatory or transformation programmes.
Why Apply?
- Long-term contract opportunity through to March 2027.
- High-profile role within a growing Data Office function.
- Opportunity to influence enterprise-wide governance practices.
- Hybrid working model with a central London location.
- Exposure to significant regulatory and transformation initiatives within financial services.
