About the role
Help us deliver safe, high-quality construction projects across County Durham as a Site Manager in our Strategic Construction Team.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
As a Site Manager, you will oversee the delivery of construction projects and associated works, leading operational staff, internal teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely to a high standard and on time.
You will:
Manage and organise assigned operational staff, internal teams and external subcontractors.
Take overall responsibility for multi-disciplined projects, including services delivered by other Divisions and Foremen.
Ensure safe systems of work are in place and that staff, contractors and works are regularly monitored.
Maintain accurate project records, including job records, service sheets, timesheets and certification.
Ensure costs are accurately recorded and claims are prepared in a timely manner with the Construction Team and Business Support staff.
Deliver financially successful, quality-assured, safe and timely project works alongside other Building & Facilities Maintenance staff.
Ensure projects meet the requirements of the Construction Manager and customers.
WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will hold:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a building/construction services discipline.
A valid 5-day SMSTS qualification.
A CSCS Management Card.
You will also have:
Supervisory and/or management experience of construction projects within a large multi-functional public or private sector organisation.
Experience of working at a similar level within a construction or maintenance environment.
A proven track record in operational management.
Experience of applying personnel policies and procedures.
Experience of working to deadlines.
