About the role
We are recruiting for a Principal Pricing

lines insurers.
The successful candidate will influence motor
and home pricing across all brands and channels; this role offers a breadth of
exposure that is rare at this level in the personal lines market. Our clients
continued investment in pricing capability and data science means there is real
space to grow, lead, and help shape the direction of a team that is genuinely
ambitious about what pricing can achieve.
Key Responsibilities

delivering and overseeing changes to prices and underwriting criteria, as
well as feeding in new ideas and bringing relevant market insight to
the attention of the pricing team.
- Understanding
the main aspects of pricing, including risk pricing, retail pricing and
expenses, and how these are modelled and derived.
- Leading
the building of significant risk and retail models using Radar, Emblem and
alternative modelling and data science techniques, implementing changes
through the pricing algorithm as required to ensure all rate changes are
made promptly.
- Using
insights gained from internal and external sources to deliver a step
change improvement in pricing and rating capabilities.
- Deputising
for the Motor or Home Pricing Manager when required.
Key Requirements
- Experience
in analysis and knowledge of the UK Motor and Home Insurance markets.
- Degree
level education or equivalent, with proven numeracy skills and experience
of applying multivariate statistical and data science techniques.
- A
solid knowledge of pricing and modelling techniques, including statistical
software such as Databricks or Python, and insurance pricing software such
as Radar and Emblem.
- Well
organised and logical, with strong attention to detail and the ability to
communicate technical information clearly, both verbally and in concise
written reports.
