Technical Claims Supervisor

Location: Bolton | Hybrid Working | Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Supervisor – Motor Claims to join a specialist legal and claims environment, supporting a high-performing Motor Recoveries Litigation team.

Combining hands-on motor litigation, technical supervision, claims quality assurance and team development, you will help improve technical standards, optimise claims handling processes and ensure compliance with client SLAs, KPIs and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with the Technical Manager, Team Leaders and senior stakeholders, you will drive continuous improvement, deliver technical training and coaching, and enhance client service and litigation outcomes.

Ideally, you will be a qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with appropriate practice rights, with strong, current experience in claimant or defendant Motor Recovery claims.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of fully litigated Motor Recovery claims, maintaining high technical and quality standards.

• Supervise, coach and mentor claims handlers and legal professionals, supporting technical development and performance improvement.

• Develop pre-litigation handlers, litigation handlers and colleagues managing Small Claims Track matters.

• Identify training needs, technical risks, quality issues and opportunities to improve claims handling processes.

• Review workflows, internal referrals and litigation trends to reduce avoidable litigation and improve operational efficiency.

• Support onboarding, technical training, competency development and financial authority progression.

• Work with management to improve client service, technical performance, quality assurance and KPI delivery.

• Ensure compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations, internal quality frameworks and client requirements.

About You

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience in motor claims litigation and managing your own caseload.

• Strong technical knowledge of Motor Recoveries, Motor Litigation and the claims process.

• Experience supervising, coaching, mentoring or training legal professionals.

• A sound understanding of client SLAs, KPIs, quality standards and regulatory compliance.

• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to challenge processes and drive improvements.

• The ability to motivate colleagues, manage technical performance and deliver consistently strong client outcomes.

• Good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (advantageous).
