PreCon Talent have partnered exclusively with a rapidly growing, well-established main contractor to support the appointment of an experienced Bid Writer.

Our client delivers high-quality new build and refurbishment schemes across multiple sectors including:

• Residential (private & mixed-use)
• Commercial offices

• Hotels & leisure

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming tenders, they are now seeking a Bid Writer to join their pre-construction team at their City of London office.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Pre-Construction, you will take ownership of the written element of PQQs, SQs, ITTs and framework submissions, working closely with estimators, planners and operational teams.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality, compelling and technically accurate tender submissions that clearly communicate the company’s strengths, methodology and value proposition.

Key Responsibilities

• Writing, editing and proofing high-scoring tender responses
• Managing multiple live bids simultaneously
• Interpreting tender questions and developing response strategies
• Liaising with internal departments to gather technical information
• Ensuring submissions are compliant and aligned with client requirements
• Maintaining and developing a bid library
• Supporting post-tender interviews and presentations where required
• Reviewing feedback and implementing improvements into future submissions

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bid Writer within a main contractor environment
• Strong understanding of UK construction procurement processes
• Experience working across new build projects (desirable)
• Excellent written English with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced pre-construction environment
• Organised, proactive and commercially aware
