How Much Does A Private Chef Cost In The UK?

Private Chef salaries in the UK typically range from £50,000 to £120,000+ gross per year depending on experience, responsibilities, travel requirements, and the level of service expected. Salaries are often higher for formal households, UHNW families, international travel roles, or chefs with Michelin or high-end hospitality backgrounds.

What Is The Difference Between A Private Chef And Personal Chef?

A Private Chef is usually employed exclusively by one household and provides ongoing tailored culinary support within the home. A Personal Chef may work across multiple clients, preparing meals on a more occasional or part-time basis.

Many households prefer a dedicated Private Chef because the role offers greater consistency, flexibility, and personalised service. Successful placements depend on finding someone whose culinary style, professionalism, and personality align naturally with the household’s lifestyle.
