The Company

Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.

Mazak’s Spindle Service Centre (SSC) is a dedicated resource that maximises Spindle performance for our customers. The department is looking to invest in capacity to align production with the increased demand for SSC-repaired spindles.

The successful candidate will be part of the Spindle Strip & Wash team based at the PDC site, working together to achieve targets set by the area team leader.

Principle Duties / Responsibilities

• Strip down returned broken spindles.
• Clean parts using approved methods.
• Test spindle stators to check if they are good to reuse.
• Inspect stripped parts to determine if they can be reused.
• Follow health & safety guidelines.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

• Self-motivated and organised with the ability to plan.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Keen to learn new skills and transfer knowledge within the team, always acting as a team player.
• Has a problem-solving mindset.
• Flexible for overtime when required to meet the production target.
• Ability to work with hand tools safely.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work with or without supervision.

Desirable Knowledge & Experience

• Experience in dismantling and cleaning mechanical parts safely.
• Experience in forklift operation.
• Experience in motor testing.
• Experience in parts inspection and re-ordering.
• Apprentice trained.
