BANDSAW OPERATIVE – Ashton

Bennett Staff are currently seeking a Bandsaw Operative to join our client based in Ashton under Lyne, Tameside. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fabrication environment, with a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and adjust saw blades, feed rates, cutting speeds, and fixtures.
• Load and unload raw materials (such as carbon /stainless steel or pipes using cranes or by hand.
• Read and work from technical drawings, blueprints, cutting lists and job sheets.
• Measure material using tape measures, callipers, micrometres or squares.
• Inspect finished cuts to verify they meet strict dimensions and tolerances.
• Deburr parts, grind sharp edges and prepare material ends for subsequent welding or assembly.
• Identify and report material defects or equipment malfunction.
• Perform daily machine checks.
• Keep the work area clean, organized and compliant with health and safety guidelines.
• Driving license advantageous but not essential as may be required to pick-up or deliver parts to customers.

Working Hours:

• 7.45am to 4.30pm – Monday to Thursday
• 7.45am to 1.45pm – Friday
• 39hrs per week.

Additional Information:

• £13.00 to £13.50 per hour
• Free on-site parking.
• Weekly Pay.
• Overtime available.
