The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Diabetes & Endocrinology Consultant to support services within the East of England, working across x2 Hospitals.

This locum opportunity offers an 8-week booking with an immediate start, combining Diabetes & Endocrinology responsibilities with participation in the General Internal Medicine (GIM) rota. The role is ideal for experienced consultants who are comfortable delivering specialist care while supporting acute medical services within a busy NHS setting.

You will work alongside established multidisciplinary teams, contributing to high-quality patient care, service delivery, and clinical excellence across both hospital sites.

• Core Hours: 09:00 - 17:00
• Additional GIM Commitments:
  • 08:00 - 09:00 and 17:00 - 21:00 weekday cover (approximately alternate weeks)
  • 14:00 - 20:00, 1 in 9 weekends
• Pay Method: PAYE

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver specialist Diabetes & Endocrinology care within an NHS hospital setting
• Participate in the General Internal Medicine rota as required
• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with endocrine and diabetes-related conditions
• Support acute medical services and contribute to effective patient flow
• Work closely with consultants, junior doctors, nursing teams, and allied health professionals
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with NHS standards
• Support safe, effective, patient-centred care across multiple sites
• Contribute to service quality improvement and clinical governance activities where appropriate

What We're Looking For

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register, or equivalent experience
• Relevant recent UK NHS Consultant experience in Diabetes & Endocrinology
• Experience participating in General Internal Medicine rotas
• Strong communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
• Candidates must have previous UK and NHS experience
