Job Title: ICT/Security Designer (Cabling, Fibre and Security)
Location: Remote
Length: 6 month rolling contract
Rate: £350–£425 per day (DOE)
Are you an ICT/Security Designer looking for your next contract opportunity? As an ICT/Security Designer, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of ICT and physical security infrastructure across large-scale data centre projects, covering structured cabling, fibre optic networks, access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality ICT and security solutions to its customers.
Responsibilities:
* Design structured cabling systems, including copper and fibre optic networks, for data centre environments.
* Develop and integrate electronic security system designs, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection.
* Prepare detailed design documentation, specifications, and technical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
* Coordinate with architectural, electrical, and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of ICT and security designs.
* Conduct design reviews and technical assessments to ensure compliance with relevant standards and client requirements.
* Provide design support during installation and commissioning phases.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Proven experience in ICT and security design for data centre projects.
* Strong technical knowledge of copper and fibre cabling systems, containment, and routing design.
* Experience designing and specifying physical security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intercoms.
* Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
* Familiarity with industry standards including TIA/EIA, BICSI, and relevant BS EN standards.
* BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) qualification (desirable).
