£34,811 pa with the addition of a temporary Market Forces Supplement of £2,142 (This supplement is awarded in recognition of current market conditions and is subject to review)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Glaziers to join our Property Services Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking service that is committed to delivering high-quality repairs, maintenance, capital investment and improvement works across our housing and property portfolio.  We are passionate about providing excellent services to our residents and creating a positive, supportive and inclusive working environment for our employees.

We are looking for motivated, skilled and customer-focused Glaziers who share our commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship and service excellence.

As a Glazier, you will play a key role in delivering a wide range of glazing works across occupied and vacant properties, as well as supporting projects within both domestic and commercial settings throughout South Tyneside.

Your duties will include:

• Installing glass in windows, doors and other structures according to specifications to a high standard.
• Repairing and replacing broken glass in existing installations as needed.
• Installing UPVC windows and composite doors to a high standard.
• Diagnosing faults and repairing the hardware and mechanisms on UPVC windows and UPVC/composite doors to a high standard.
• Measuring accurately and, if needed, suggesting potential materials.
• Prioritising workloads, working as part of a team, along with working independently to complete tasks.
• Maintaining healthy customer relationships.
• Ensuring materials needed are ordered to correct amounts and in time to ensure continued operation on the site.
• Ensuring site is safe for the public and employees.
• Changing and using tools associated with the work, including portable power tools.
• Supervising Apprentices and other young people on site regarding tasks to be carried out.
• Ensuring that the job is completed in the time frame and to customers satisfaction.
• Being responsible for the safety of yourself and others around you in the work you carry out.
• Undertaking all aspects of the role, using a multi–skilled whole job approach.
