Head of Planning

East Yorkshire, Driffield YO25 3AA, UK Carrington West Head of Planning Hybrid working available £107 per hour - DOE 5 Month Initial contract 37 hours per week Job Ref - 70100   Lead and shape a high-performing Planning Service within a leading Local Authority. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior planning professional to provide strategic leadership across Development Management, Planning Policy and wider planning functions, supporting the Council's economic development and regeneration objectives.   Key responsibilities: ·Lead the Planning Service and provide strategic direction across Development Management, Planning Policy and related functions ·Oversee statutory planning responsibilities, delegated decision making and Planning Committee functions ·Provide strategic planning advice to Members, senior officers, developers and key stakeholders ·Lead the delivery of planning policy and support major development and regeneration projects ·Manage teams, performance, budgets and resources to deliver an effective planning service ·Represent the Council at strategic meetings, partnerships, appeals and inquiries   Requirements: ·Significant Local Authority planning experience at a senior management level ·Strong knowledge of Development Management, Planning Policy and planning legislation ·Proven experience leading and developing professional planning teams · Experience managing complex planning applications and strategic development projects ·Strong communication skills with experience advising Members and senior stakeholders ·Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and professional judgement   Please call Jake Herrington on (phone number removed) for a confidential discussion on this role, or email: (url removed) (url removed)   Carrington West's dedicated Town Planning Recruitment Team supplies clients UK-wide on both a permanent and contract basis at all levels of seniority.
