Admin Officer Part-time
Location: Camborne TR14-8DN Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Pay rate: £12.71

Our client is hiring for an Admin Officer within the Probation Service-supporting staff and people on probation through accurate processes, timely administration, and a careful approach to sensitive information.

What you'll be doing:


* Maintain accurate people on probation and victim information on approved databases
* Support the administration of referrals and the relationships between offender management, victims, interventions, service providers and external agencies
* Prepare, maintain and collate case and management records to required standards
* Receive and distribute information and communications via telephone, paper and email
* Provide cover for reception and telephone enquiries (including evening cover as part of the role)
* Act as a single point of contact within the unit for specialist area tasks, as required
* Make practical arrangements to support the implementation of the Sentence Plan (appointments, directions and similar)
* Carry out enforcement administration as required
* Handle travel-related admin tasks such as issuing petty cash/vouchers/warrants where necessary, keeping records in line with local financial procedures
* Organise equipment, materials and facilities needed for case activities
* Report faulty equipment/materials and arrange replacement/repair as agreed
* Support meetings by organising, taking and distributing notes/minutes and action points
* Undertake safeguarding children duties in line with statutory responsibilities and agency policies
* Follow Health and Safety policies and undertake equipment tests as required
* Demonstrate pro-social modelling by reinforcing pro-social behaviour and challenging anti-social behaviour
* Support out-of-hours responsibilities when required, adhering at all times to policy around confidential information

What you'll bring:


* Commitment to equality and inclusion, and understanding how it applies to your work
* Ability to use databases confidently, with strong organisation and attention to detail
* Good keyboard and IT skills, including MS Office Word and basic Excel skills
* Confident verbal and written communication skills to deal with a wide range of individuals
* Ability to work on your own initiative and manage your workload effectively
* Confidence dealing with people on probation, including those who may be in crisis, distressed, or display inappropriate/aggressive behaviour-always seeking appropriate support in line with office procedures
* Strong administrative judgement around sensitive information and confidential records
* Ability to fulfil spoken aspects of the role in English with confidence

Additional information:


* Part-time: 12 hours per week, including evening cover
* Security and identity checks apply prior to taking up post
* External candidates are subject to a 6-month probation period; internal candidates are subject to probation if they have not already served one within HMPPS
