About the Production Manager job

As Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading production operations and delivering measurable improvements in productivity, labour efficiency, quality performance, and operational standards. You will be responsible for one direct Shift Manager and up to 40 indirect Operatives

Key tasks

• Improve line performance, efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). 
• Identify and implement opportunities to reduce labour costs through improved processes and ways of working. 
• Monitor production KPIs including efficiency, waste, downtime, quality, and labour utilisation. 
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, HACCP, BRC, quality, and health & safety standards. 
• Work closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to ensure operational effectiveness. 

About You

You will have good and proven experience in a Production Manager or Operations leadership role within food manufacturing.  In addition:

• Track record of improving operational performance, labour efficiency, and quality standards.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and food safety requirements. 
• Experience of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people development skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Results-focused with the ability to deliver change in a fast-paced environment.

More details

The Production Manager job is based in Essex and is paying £50,000 according to your experience. The package includes 24 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays and a statutory company pension contribution. The working hours are 6.00am – 2.00pm Monday to Friday, no weekends.
