Engineering Operations Manager- London

My client is seeking an Engineering Operations Manager in the London area. Travelling to other sites will be required.

This role combines commercial insight, client relationship management, and operational oversight to ensure contract profitability, client satisfaction, and continuous service improvement.

Key responsibilities include developing and owning strategic account plans, managing risk registers, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and overseeing contract renewals.

The role demands leadership in safety compliance, team performance management, and operational delivery of engineering maintenance services.

The manager will lead health and safety programmes, conduct audits and investigations, and ensure statutory inspections are completed. They will also manage contract variations, financial performance, and vendor relationships, ensuring value for money and compliance with contractual obligations. Strong client engagement is essential, including delivering monthly performance reports and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).

The role requires effective resource management, including out-of-hours rotas, training matrices, and vehicle management, to maintain operational excellence and team development.

Skills:
Strategic and commercial leadership
Proven experience managing large-scale facilities management or hard services contracts
Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L management
Contract negotiation and renewal expertise
Outstanding client relationship and stakeholder management skills
Operational excellence in facilities management, including PPM and reactive maintenance
Health, safety, and environmental compliance knowledge
Leadership and people management, including coaching and performance management
Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills
Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities

Software/Tools:
Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems
Performance reporting tools
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Certifications & Standards:
Technical qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
Desirable: IWFM, RICS, or equivalent professional qualifications

This is a temp to perm role paying £36.47 per hour PAYE + holiday pay or £48.15 per hour umbrella.
