Engineering Supervisor - London

My client is seeking a hands-on and proactive Engineering Supervisor to support the Engineering Manager in the day-to-day operational management of building engineering services in the London area.

This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, overseeing compliance, and providing technical leadership to the site engineering team.

You will manage the work order system to ensure timely progress and completion of maintenance requests, conduct quality assurance checks on Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), and verify contractor works meet required standards.

The role requires active participation in maintenance and repair tasks, troubleshooting equipment failures, and mentoring site engineers to uphold safety and operational excellence.

You will be responsible for reviewing and supervising contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), conducting site safety audits, and championing a strong safety culture. Additionally, you will coordinate engineering staff schedules, manage shift patterns, and ensure emergency standby cover is in place to maintain business continuity.

Clear communication with the Engineering Manager and stakeholders is essential, including timely escalation of critical issues and preparation of detailed operational reports. This position demands a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and compliance oversight to ensure the smooth running of engineering operations on site.

This role is a temp to perm position, paying £27.08 per hour PAYE + holiday pay or £35.75 per hour Umbrella.
