Your work will help improve student learning and make sure every lesson runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities

  • Resource Management: Organise and maintain inventory of materials, tools, and resources, ensuring adequate supply for lessons and school projects, and manage orders and deliveries.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, basic repairs, and troubleshooting on equipment, machinery, and tools, keeping accurate records of all maintenance activities.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, conduct risk assessments, provide safety guidance, and complete first aid training for student and staff safety.
  • Assistance with Projects and Events: Support teachers and students in project planning and delivery, assist with event setups and dismantling, and collaborate on cross-curricular initiatives.
  • First Aid: Have or be willing to complete Emergency First Aid training.

We are looking for someone who has

  • Formal qualification in Art, Design Technology, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Practical experience working within an Art or Design Technology context (educational or industry).
  • Hands-on experience operating power tools and working confidently with wood, metal, and plastics.
  • High accuracy and thoroughness in equipment maintenance, material handling, and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical advice, safety guidelines, and practical instructions to both staff and students.
  • Strong initiative to anticipate student/staff needs, take ownership of tasks, and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • First Aid is desirable but not essential.
  • UK right to work, as this role is not eligible for sponsorship.

Can you stay calm under pressure, work well with others, and manage your own time? Do you have patience, flexibility, and a thoughtful approach to solving problems? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
