QC Laboratory Technician (6 month contract)

Job Description:

Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a QC Lab technician on a 6 MONTH contract. Our client is a leader in manufacturing and supplying some of the worlds leading brands with food flavourings and colourings for their products.

Duties

• Accurately analyse samples in line with relevant SOP, after suitable training
• Accurately and neatly record results
• Use ERP system to log results
• Conduct calibration checks on laboratory equipment
• Check and sign off production formulations
• Assist in ‘Wrong First Time’ and Non-Conformance investigations
• Prepare and log samples for testing at external laboratories
• Liaise with Production Supervisors, Production Office and Development / Quality regarding out of spec results where required
• Undertake general housekeeping and administration tasks
• Make up test and reagent solutions accurately as per instructions
• Take samples from raw materials / finished products as required
• Use Forklift Truck (training provided)
• Fully support and proactively participate in site safety, quality and environmental programmes
• Any other duties compatible with the role

Qualifications

Essential:

• A Level in Chemistry, Food science or related science-based subject.
• Experience of working in an industrial or analytical laboratory.

Desirable:

• Experience in Colours lab
• Degree in Chemistry, Food science or related science-based subject
