The Programme
ProMedical is currently mobilising Consultant Paediatricians with relevant Paediatric Allergy expertise for a planned NHS weekend insourcing programme, designed to provide additional outpatient capacity within an established secondary-care Paediatric Allergy pathway.
You will work as part of a coordinated clinical team delivering consultant-led outpatient activity for children aged 15 years and under, supporting increased capacity and timely access to specialist assessment and management.

- Programme: Paediatric Allergy outpatient insourcing
- Location: North West England
- Schedule: Weekend daytime outpatient clinics - Saturdays and Sundays. Regular availability is welcomed, but you are not required to work every weekend, and selected weekend availability will be considered.
- Start Date: Initial mobilisation underway, subject to final programme confirmation
- Programme Duration: Anticipated six-month programme, approximately October 2026 to March 2027
- Engagement: Sessional / programme rota
- Payroll: Umbrella
- Additional Information: Consultant-led on-site outpatient delivery within an established Paediatric Allergy pathway.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead consultant-delivered Paediatric Allergy outpatient clinics, assessing and managing children referred with common allergy presentations including food allergy, urticaria / angioedema, allergic rhinitis and anaphylaxis
- Assess, diagnose and formulate appropriate management plans in accordance with local Paediatric Allergy pathways, clinical protocols and governance requirements
- Provide clinical leadership within the clinic, working closely with experienced Registered Children’s Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Review relevant allergy investigations and clinical findings, including skin prick testing and blood investigations, and determine appropriate treatment, education, follow-up and escalation
- Ensure clear allergy management and action plans are in place where clinically appropriate, including advice relating to allergen avoidance, emergency management and adrenaline auto-injectors
- Maintain accurate clinical records and support safe, efficient patient flow and consistent delivery across the weekend programme
What We’re Looking For
- Active GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Substantial recent experience in Paediatric Allergy, with the clinical competence to independently assess and manage children presenting within a secondary-care Paediatric Allergy outpatient pathway
- Consultant-level paediatric experience, with appropriate specialist Paediatric Allergy expertise, special interest or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Ability to provide clinical leadership within a structured, session-based outpatient insourcing service and work to defined pathways and governance requirements
- Strong multidisciplinary working, communication, safeguarding and professional standards, with confidence supporting children and families in an outpatient setting
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
