Learning Support Assistant – Radlett

Pay: £85–£115 per day (dependent on experience)

Supply Desk are currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the Radlett area, starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to help pupils access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to pupils across the classroom, helping them engage with lessons and learning activities.
• Offer 1:1 and small-group support to reinforce learning and understanding where required.
• Assist teachers with preparing and delivering engaging classroom activities.
• Help pupils develop their literacy, numeracy and wider learning skills.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs and adapt approaches to suit individual requirements.
• Monitor pupils' progress and communicate any concerns to the class teacher.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to meet pupils' needs.
• Promote positive social interactions and emotional wellbeing.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Role Requirements

• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is advantageous.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, caring and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Confidence in encouraging positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
• A genuine passion for education and helping children succeed.
• A good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
• Previous primary or secondary school experience is desirable.
