About the role
Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable people to live the lives they choose?
Do you enjoy developing and supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality care and support services? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
ESL Nuthall is a group of CQC-registered and non-registered services that support people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dual diagnoses to live independently with the right level of support. The service is led by a Registered Manager, alongside a large team of geographically dispersed Support Workers and Care Assistants providing 24-hour support.
About the Role
As an Assistant Manager, you will be part of a supportive management team, helping to ensure safe, effective and person-centred services are delivered across ESL Nuthall.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the day-to-day management of the service and deputising for the Registered Manager when required.
- Providing supervision, guidance and support to colleagues, including managing performance and development.
- Overseeing medication management and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Assisting with staff rotas and arranging short-notice shift cover where required.
- Monitoring training compliance and supporting continuous professional development.
- Managing sickness absence, conduct and performance matters.
- Visiting colleagues in service settings to provide support, guidance and quality assurance.
- Building positive relationships with service users, families and external professionals.
- Responding constructively to feedback and complaints to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Supporting the implementation of quality, health and safety, safeguarding and compliance standards.
About You
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, caring and committed to delivering excellent services. You will bring:
- Experience working within a social care environment.
- Experience supervising or leading colleagues and supporting their development.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
- A person-centred approach and genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people.
- An understanding of the needs of people from diverse social, cultural and racial backgrounds.
While knowledge of CQC requirements would be advantageous, it is not essential, and support will be provided to help you develop in the role.
Working Pattern
This role is primarily worked during office hours; however, flexibility is essential. You will occasionally be required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and overnight shifts to meet service needs and provide management support across the service.
Why Join Us?
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your management career within a supportive and values-led organisation. You'll play a key role in helping people live independently while supporting colleagues to deliver outstanding care and support every day.
If you're ready to take the next step in your leadership career and make a real difference to people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
