About the role
Location: Glasgow or Newcastle (Hybrid – 3 days per week)
Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE (flexibility for exceptional candidates)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
The Opportunity
We're working with an established cybersecurity services provider looking to appoint two Pre-Sales Solution Architects to support its continued growth.
This is an opportunity for technically minded cybersecurity professionals who enjoy solving complex customer challenges, designing security solutions and acting as trusted advisers.
Unlike traditional vendor Presales positions, this role isn't focused on product demonstrations or individual sales targets. Instead, you'll work consultatively with customers, understanding their security requirements and designing solutions across a broad portfolio of cybersecurity services.
You'll join a collaborative environment, working closely with Account Managers, technical delivery specialists and bid management teams.
What You'll Be Doing
-
Leading technical discovery conversations to understand customer security challenges, identify risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
-
Designing and scoping cybersecurity solutions across managed security services, penetration testing and GRC consultancy.
-
Acting as a trusted technical adviser, translating complex security requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions.
-
Taking ownership of technical content for RFPs, tenders and customer proposals, working alongside an established Bid Management team.
-
Supporting Account Managers with customer meetings, account planning and technical guidance.
-
Collaborating with security specialists to develop solutions aligned with customer requirements.
-
Providing technical insight across a broad cybersecurity services portfolio, rather than focusing on a single product or technology.
-
Supporting internal knowledge sharing and sales enablement activities.
What We're Looking For
-
A good technical understanding of cybersecurity, ideally gained within managed security services, cybersecurity consultancy or a similar environment.
-
Experience in technical solution design, scoping or customer-facing security advisory work.
-
A consultative mindset, with the ability to ask the right questions, diagnose customer challenges and develop appropriate solutions.
-
Excellent technical writing skills, with experience contributing to or producing detailed RFP and tender responses.
-
Knowledge of cybersecurity services such as SOC, MDR, SIEM, penetration testing or GRC.
-
Confidence communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
-
The ability to work collaboratively with commercial teams and technical specialists.
Nice to Have
-
Previous experience as a Pre-Sales Consultant, Security Solutions Architect or Cybersecurity Consultant.
-
Experience working for an MSSP or cybersecurity services provider.
-
Knowledge of Microsoft security technologies, MXDR, endpoint detection or threat intelligence.
-
Exposure to multiple cybersecurity service lines.
You don't need to be an expert across every area of cybersecurity. We're equally interested in speaking with candidates who have developed expertise in managed security services, penetration testing or GRC and are keen to broaden their knowledge.
What's on Offer
-
Basic salary up to £60,000, with some flexibility for exceptional candidates.
-
A technically focused Presales position with no individual sales targets or commission structure.
-
Exposure to a varied portfolio of cybersecurity services and customer challenges.
-
The opportunity to work alongside experienced cybersecurity specialists.
-
A collaborative, consultative working environment.
-
Hybrid working from Glasgow or Newcastle, with flexibility considered for exceptional candidates.
Interested?
If you're a technically minded cybersecurity professional who enjoys understanding customer challenges, designing solutions and working across a variety of security services, we'd be keen to hear from you.
