About the role
A well-respected brand agency is seeking a Systems Administrator to keep its technology reliable, efficient and secure. You’ll support the platforms that help creative teams work productively, from Apple devices and Jamf Pro to Microsoft 365 and other cloud services. Around 90% of the devices run macOS, alongside a small Windows estate. Reporting to the Head of IT, you’ll join the Central Services team and balance practical, people-focused support with hands-on systems administration. You’ll resolve everyday issues, help address more complex problems and improve the technology that enables teams to collaborate and deliver their work.
*3 days per week in the office in Central Bristol.
What experience you’ll need to apply
- Experience supporting Apple devices with Jamf Pro or a comparable device-management platform.
- Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams.
- Experience administering IT services in a cloud-first organisation and supporting local and remote users.
- Understanding of cloud identity and security, including MFA, least privilege, endpoint protection, patching, monitoring, backup and recovery.
- Awareness of security, compliance and audit requirements, such as ISO 27001, GDPR and Cyber Essentials.
- Experience managing SaaS applications, software licences, suppliers and integrations.
- Working knowledge of business networking, including managed Wi-Fi, VPNs, switches, DNS and firewalls.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation across macOS, Jamf or Microsoft 365.
- Experience in a creative agency or design studio would be an advantage. Font-management platforms, Microsoft security tools, web hosting and relevant certifications are also desirable.
What you’ll be doing
As Systems Administrator, you’ll administer and maintain Apple and Windows devices, Jamf Pro, Microsoft 365 and the wider portfolio of cloud services. You’ll manage user access, device configuration, patching, monitoring and backup processes to help keep systems secure and available.
You’ll monitor service health, device compliance and security alerts, respond to incidents and work with the Head of IT on more complex issues. You’ll maintain asset records and technical documentation, and support compliance activities relating to ISO 27001, GDPR and Cyber Essentials.
You’ll also help manage SaaS applications, software licences, suppliers and renewals. You’ll report on risks, costs, compliance and opportunities to improve the service, and recommend proportionate investment. Clear communication will be important: you’ll explain updates and known risks, promote good security and data-management practices, and support technology improvements that make collaboration easier.
What you’ll get in return for your experience
There’s a competitive salary (£40K-50K), excellent skills development and support from their Head of IT as well as some great benefits. They have a profit-sharing bonus scheme, 26 days holiday, salary sacrifice pension, personal development budget, cycle to work scheme, volunteering days, enhanced family leave and lots of fun socials.
