About the role
Our client, an independent loss adjusting practice, handles claims end to end across all traditional casualty lines for insurers, MGAs, brokers and legal partners. They’re growing their Casualty team and want to hear from Liability Adjusters at all levels, from desktop handlers through to experienced field adjusters.
They’re particularly keen to speak with adjusters who have complex property and construction liability experience. Backgrounds in EL, PL, Products, TPPD or professional negligence and financial lines are also very welcome. Location is flexible.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a mixed EL, PL and Products portfolio, including personal injury, TPPD and consequential loss
- Handle claims cradle to grave under licensed authority, as well as investigation-only instructions
- Carry out field investigations, including site visits and witness interviews
- Assess legal and policy liability and set accurate reserves
- Produce clear, well-reasoned reports in line with client SLAs
- Liaise with claims teams, underwriters, policyholders, brokers and claimant solicitors
- Work towards early resolution of disputes where possible
What We’re Looking For
You’ll have proven liability adjusting or casualty claims experience and enjoy getting into the detail of how and why a loss happened.
- Proven experience as a Liability Adjuster or in casualty claims handling
- Complex property or construction liability experience is a strong advantage
- Industrial Disease experience is a bonus but not essential
- Good working knowledge of case, common and statute law
- Understanding of model and express contract conditions
- Knowledge of CPR and pre-action protocols, ideally including the Construction & Engineering Disputes protocol
- Strong report writing skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- ACII and/or ACILA preferred, or currently studying towards them
