About the role
Machine Operative | Paignton | £13.50 per hour
gap personnel are recruiting a Machine Operative for a well-established seafood manufacturer in Paignton. If you enjoy hands-on work and want to build your experience operating machinery in a busy food production environment, we’d like to hear from you.
Hours and pay
- £13.50 per hour
- Monday to Friday, 7:00am until finish, normally around 3:30pm
- Occasional Saturdays required
What you’ll be doing
- Operating machinery used to process crab products
- Keeping the machine supplied with product and monitoring it during production
- Checking product quality and reporting any faults or issues to your supervisor
- Helping clean machinery and work areas in line with site procedures
- Supporting the wider team with packing, labelling and general production duties when needed
What we’re looking for
Previous experience operating machinery or working in a factory, manufacturing or production environment would be an advantage. Full training is provided, including Level 2 Food Hygiene and Health & Safety training.
You’ll need to be reliable, comfortable working at pace and able to follow instructions and safety procedures. As this is a crab processing site, you’ll also need to be comfortable working around the smell of seafood.
