Senior Energy Analyst

Astute’s Renewables team is partnering with a leading renewable energy consultancy to recruit a Senior Energy Analyst, specialising in wind, for its Glasgow office.

This permanent, hybrid role focuses on onshore and offshore wind energy yield assessments for international markets. You’ll deliver complex wind analytics projects, help develop new analysis methods and tools, and support the development of analysts in a growing team.

Responsibilities of the Senior Energy Analyst

Reporting to the UK Analytics Manager, you will:

• Deliver complex onshore and offshore wind energy yield assessments and supporting analytical studies
• Support quality control and delivery of pre-construction and post-construction wind energy yield assessments
• Technically check wind analyses and reports, with the opportunity to become an authorised approver
• Develop and improve global wind analytics methods, tools and technical processes
• Manage project budgets, financial reporting, delivery programmes and client expectations
• Build strong client relationships and support business development, including tenders, bids and commercial proposals
• Take part in research and development, keeping up to date with wind industry developments and new methodologies
• Train, guide and develop analysts within the team

Required qualifications and experience

To be considered, you must have:

• 5+ years’ experience in the renewable energy industry, specifically in wind energy assessment and/or wind farm SCADA systems
• A degree or postgraduate degree in engineering, meteorology, physics, mathematics or a related discipline
• Significant experience delivering onshore wind pre-construction and/or post-construction energy yield assessments
• Experience technically checking wind energy yield assessments and supporting analyses
• Proficiency in Python, including understanding, applying, reviewing and testing Python-based analytical tools
• Experience managing wind analytics projects, including budgets, programmes, client communications and delivery issues

Desirable experience

It would be an advantage, but is not essential, to have:

• Offshore wind pre-construction energy yield analysis experience across international markets
• Technical due diligence experience on pre-construction or operational wind farm projects
• Pre-construction or post-construction energy yield assessment experience for solar farms
• Knowledge of hybrid projects combining wind, solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS)

Salary and benefits

• Contract: Permanent, full-time
• Working pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
• Location: Glasgow, with hybrid and remote working options
