Project Engineer

Astute’s Data Centre Team has partnered with an international construction and engineering contractor specializing in large-scale, mission critical infrastructure projects to recruit a Project Engineer for it’s hyperscale Data Centre projects in Germany.

This permanent role is site-based in Frankfurt, and offers a competitive salary, plus €20k additional living allowance, accommodation and flights for candidates from overseas.

Responsibilities of the Project Engineer role

Reporting to the Project Lead, you will:

• Lead and coordinate engineering activities across the project, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications and construction programmes.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the site engineering team and ensuring effective allocation and delivery of engineering tasks.
• Manage technical interfaces between design teams, subcontractors and site management, resolving engineering issues and ensuring timely responses to RFIs and technical queries.
• Oversee quality assurance processes, including design reviews, technical inspections, quality documentation and verification of construction works.

Work closely with the Project Manager and wider site leadership team to monitor progress, coordinate resources and ensure engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.

Required qualifications and experience

To be considered, you must have:

• Minimum 5+ years experience in a Senior Engineer or Project Engineer role within large-scale construction or civil engineering projects.
• Relevant degree in Civil Engineering, or other Engineering field.
• Hold recognized Appointed Persons (Lifting) qualification.
• Previous experience delivering projects within complex construction environments, ideally hyperscale data centres, pharmaceutical, life sciences, high-tech or industrial developments.
• Strong technical and IT skills, including proficiency in GPS, robotic total stations and levelling equipment, alongside working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and Microsoft Office.
• MUST have EU passport or Right to Work in Germany.

• Salary: Competitive Salary, can be discussed in a call.
• Contract: Permanent
• Working pattern: Monday – Friday (8am-6pm) OR 10-4 Rotation.
• Location: Site-based in Frankfurt.
• Benefits: €20k living allowance in addition to salary. Flights and accommodation or travel allowance.
