A rare opportunity to lead an award-winning luxury B&B in one of Yorkshire’s most beautiful settings.

 

Our client is looking for an experienced Hospitality Manager or Supervisor to take responsibility for an exceptional eight-bedroom B&B set within the grounds of a prestigious Grade II* listed hall, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.

 

With a 5-star rating and a strong record of AA, Visit England and Tripadvisor accolades, this is a business where standards genuinely matter. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the outstanding guest experience while bringing fresh ideas and continuing to develop the operation.

 

This is a hands-on, varied management role, covering front-of-house, guest experience, breakfast service and the management of a small housekeeping team. You will have genuine autonomy and will be expected to take ownership of the day-to-day operation, identifying opportunities to improve the guest experience and ensuring the high standards of the business are consistently maintained.

 

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Managing the day-to-day operation of the eight-bedroom B&B, maintaining exceptional accommodation and service standards.
• Leading the guest experience, from enquiries and bookings through to check-in, breakfast and departure.
• Managing and developing the housekeeping team and coordinating breakfast provision.
• Maximising occupancy, managing bookings, payments and relationships with booking platforms.
• Building strong relationships with guests, local businesses and tourism partners to support repeat business and growth.
• Managing supplies, procurement, maintenance coordination and operational requirements.
• Supporting the ongoing sales and marketing strategy, including online promotion and guest reviews.
• Ensuring robust standards of Health & Safety, food hygiene and operational compliance.
• Using systems and management information to monitor performance and identify opportunities for continual improvement.

 

About You

We are looking for someone who has worked at supervisory or management level within a high-quality, customer-focused hospitality environment, ideally within a boutique hotel, B&B, restaurant or similar setting.

 

You will be highly organised and proactive, with a genuine eye for detail and an understanding of what it takes to deliver an exceptional, personalised guest experience. You will be comfortable leading and developing a small team, implementing effective processes and addressing potential issues before they become problems.

 

Experience across food and beverage, sales and marketing, budgeting, procurement and facilities management would be advantageous, alongside a sound understanding of hospitality Health & Safety and hygiene requirements.

 

Most importantly, you will take pride in creating an environment where the considerable work behind the scenes is invisible to the guest — they simply experience outstanding service.
