Behaviour Buddy - 1-1 Support - BS13 Bristol - Full Time - Starting ASAP

Location: BS13, Bristol
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP

We are working with a primary school in the BS13 area of Bristol who are looking for a Behaviour Buddy to work 1-1 with a child with additional needs who is transitioning to a new school. The child will need patient, consistent support while they settle in, so the school is keen to hear from people who can build a trusting relationship and help them feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

The Role:

• Providing dedicated 1-1 support to a child with additional needs
• Supporting the child through their transition to a new school and a new routine
• Building a strong, trusting and positive relationship with the child
• Using positive behaviour strategies to encourage self-regulation and good choices
• Supporting the child to access classroom learning and stay engaged with activities
• Helping with transitions, unstructured times and daily routines
• Supporting social skills, communication and emotional regulation
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress

We Are Looking For:

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting (essential)
• A patient, calm and consistent approach
• Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to build trust with a child
• Resilience and the ability to stay positive and composed in challenging situations
• Experience using positive behaviour strategies (desirable)
• Strong communication skills
• Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
