About the role
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Bid Manager to join a growing, multi-disciplinary business with an expanding portfolio of work across construction, engineering, consultancy, sports infrastructure and environmental design.
This is a varied role where you'll take ownership of the bid process from initial opportunity qualification through to final submission, working with technical, operational and commercial teams to produce high-quality, competitive tenders.
With projects ranging from major international stadia to community and environmental schemes, the role offers exposure to a diverse range of sectors and the opportunity to make a real impact on business growth.
The Role
You'll lead the preparation and submission of bids, tenders and RFP responses, ensuring each submission is well structured, commercially aligned and delivered on time.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the full bid process, from opportunity assessment and bid planning through to submission.
Developing bid strategies, win themes and response plans tailored to client requirements.
Coordinating input from technical, operational and commercial teams, keeping everyone aligned to deadlines.
Writing, editing and developing compelling bid content, including methodologies, project approaches, quality responses and social value submissions.
Managing bid reviews, quality assurance, governance and internal approvals.
Coordinating pricing, fee proposals and commercial information with relevant stakeholders.
Overseeing final document production and submission, ensuring all requirements are met.
Developing and maintaining bid templates, case studies, project references and content libraries.
Reviewing previous submissions and implementing improvements to bid processes and success rates.
About You
You'll be an experienced Bid Manager, Senior Bid Writer, Proposal Manager or similar, with a proven track record of managing complex tenders from start to finish.
You'll be organised, commercially aware and confident bringing together multiple stakeholders to deliver quality submissions against tight deadlines.
You'll also have:
At least three years' relevant bid management or tender experience.
Experience managing multiple bids and competing deadlines.
Strong written communication, editing and document production skills.
The ability to develop persuasive, client-focused responses and clear bid strategies.
Experience coordinating technical and commercial contributors.
A good understanding of bid governance, compliance and quality assurance.
Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes.
Experience within construction, engineering, consultancy or professional services would be particularly relevant.
Knowledge of competitive tendering and RFP processes is essential to the role, while experience with Adobe InDesign and exposure to the sports or water sectors would be advantageous.
