Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Bolton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who may struggle with behaviour, emotional regulation, engagement or social challenges. The Role As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to manage their behaviour and engage positively with school life. Your responsibilities will include: Providing 1:1 and small–group mentoring and supportBuilding positive, trusting relationships with pupilsSupporting students to regulate their emotions and manage challenging situationsHelping pupils understand and make positive changes to their behaviourEncouraging engagement with learning and improving attendanceSupporting pupils who may be at risk of disengaging from educationWorking alongside teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school teamHelping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independenceDe–escalating challenging situations in a calm and professional mannerPromoting positive behaviour and maintaining clear boundaries About You The successful candidate will be: Patient, calm and resilientConfident managing challenging behaviourAble to build strong relationships with young peopleConsistent and confident in maintaining boundariesEmpathetic and understanding of the challenges young people may faceA strong communicator and team playerPassionate about helping young people succeedAble to remain calm and professional under pressureExperience working in secondary schools, behaviour support, youth work, pastoral care, SEMH settings, residential care or similar environments would be highly beneficial. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation, SEMH needs or disengagement from education.
