Career Teachers Leicester is delighted to be recruiting an experienced and passionate Playgroup Manager to lead in a local Playgroup within a welcoming and well-established setting. LE3

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Early Years professional with management experience and a strong SEND background to take on a rewarding leadership role within a nurturing and child-centred environment.

Essential Requirements

Please only apply if you meet all of the following criteria:

• Level 3 (or above) Early Years / Childcare qualification
• Experience working as a SENCO and supporting children with SEND
• Minimum 2 years' management experience within a Nursery, Pre-School or Playgroup setting

The Role

Working closely with the owner, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the playgroup, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, safeguarding and compliance are maintained.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you will support children directly, lead a small team of practitioners, build positive relationships with parents and help drive the continued success of the setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support a small Early Years team.
• Oversee the daily running of the playgroup.
• Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding and all statutory requirements.
• Manage and complete all relevant Early Years documentation and record keeping.
• Lead on SEND provision and support children with additional needs.
• Act as a key worker for allocated children.
• Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external agencies.
• Monitor children's progress and support their learning and development.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and wellbeing throughout the setting.
• Support with daily set-up and pack-away requirements.
• Work closely with the owner on safeguarding, operational and strategic matters.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years.
• Have previous SENCO experience and a strong understanding of SEND support.
• Have at least 2 years' management experience within an Early Years setting.
• Demonstrate excellent leadership and organisational skills.
• Be confident managing compliance and EYFS requirements.
• Be passionate about delivering outstanding outcomes for children.
• Be flexible, proactive and able to work as part of a close-knit team.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Term Time Only
• Start time: 8:30am
• Finish time: Between 1:30pm and 3:00pm (to be agreed)
