Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant 
Location: Herne Hill, SE24 – commutable from Brixton, Dulwich, Tulse Hill, West Norwood and surrounding areas
Pay: £110–£125 per day
Start Date: December 2026 / January 2027
Hours: 8:30am–3:45pm, Monday to Friday
Long Term Futures is recruiting an enthusiastic and nurturing Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Herne Hill, SE24, with a flexible start date of December 2026 or January 2027.
The successful candidate will support pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage, helping them develop their communication, confidence, independence and early learning skills through a combination of structured activities and play-based learning.
About the Role

• Assist with planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning activities
• Encourage learning through play, exploration and practical experiences
• Support children’s early communication, language and social development
• Deliver phonics, early literacy and numeracy activities where appropriate
• Observe and record children’s progress against EYFS developmental expectations
• Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND where required
• Maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment
• Assist with daily routines, transitions, snack times and personal care where necessary
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team to support individual pupil development

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or an equivalent relevant qualification – essential
• Previous experience working within EYFS, Nursery or Reception
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
• Paediatric First Aid qualification is desirable but not essential
• Confident supporting early communication, phonics and school readiness
• Understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning
• Experience supporting children with SEND would be advantageous
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing
