Job title: Residential Conveyancer (Experienced) – Remote, Hybrid or Office-Based

Pay: £32,000 – £35,000 per year, plus an annual bonus of one-third of all fees billed over target

Are you an experienced conveyancer who is tired of high-volume, process-driven work where there’s never enough time to do things properly?

At Baines Bagguley Penhale, we do things differently. Our caseworkers carry an average of 50–60 live files at any one time. That’s deliberate: our focus is on quality and customer service, not volume. You’ll have the time to run your files properly, keep clients and agents informed, and take pride in the service you give.

We’re looking for an experienced Residential Conveyancer to take on an established caseload. This is not a trainee or assistant role. You’ll need to be confident running your own files independently from instruction through to completion and post-completion, and ready to hit the ground running.

You can work remotely, on a hybrid basis, or from our Morecambe or Lancaster offices. The choice is yours.

About the role

• Full-time, permanent position
• Remote, hybrid or office-based, whichever suits you
• Salary £32,000 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
• Annual bonus of one-third of all fees you bill over target, so your hard work is directly rewarded
• Take over and manage an existing caseload of residential property matters
• Handle sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity from instruction through to post-completion
• Build strong working relationships with clients and estate agents
• Work with modern case management systems, IT and AI tools that take admin off your plate

What we’re looking for

• Typically 3+ years’ experience in residential conveyancing, or equivalent demonstrable experience, running your own caseload independently
• Confidence in your legal skills: you can handle title issues, enquiries, leasehold matters and problems as they arise, without needing everything checked
• A strong commitment to customer care for both clients and estate agents, because you understand that good communication keeps transactions moving
• Real enthusiasm for giving the best possible service on every file
• Good IT skills and a willingness to use technology, including AI tools, to work smarter
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
