About the role
HR Consultant | HR Consultancy | Hybrid Working
Zachary Daniels is delighted to be partnering with a fantastic HR consultancy to recruit an experienced HR Consultant to join their growing team.
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a business that genuinely looks after its people. A small but mighty team who are passionate about what they do, incredibly supportive of one another and really believe in having a healthy work-life balance.
The consultancy partners with small business owners across a variety of sectors, providing practical, commercially focused HR advice and helping them navigate the challenges that come with managing people.
And this is where the role is a little different.
They're not looking for someone to simply take over and do everything for their clients. They're looking for someone who can build relationships, ask the right questions, challenge thinking when needed and give business owners the confidence and knowledge to make the right decisions themselves.
The role
You'll work with a portfolio of clients, becoming a trusted partner to business owners and managers who need someone they can turn to for honest, practical HR advice.
No two days will look quite the same, and you'll have the opportunity to work with businesses at different stages of their journey.
Your responsibilities will include:
Building strong, lasting relationships with clients, really getting to know their businesses, challenges and people.
Providing commercially focused HR advice across a broad range of people matters.
Coaching and guiding business owners and managers, helping them develop the confidence to manage their own people challenges.
Asking the right questions, understanding the bigger picture and helping clients find the best solutions for their business.
Advising on employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinaries, performance, absence and capability.
Supporting clients with HR policies, processes and employment legislation.
Helping businesses navigate change, improve their people practices and create positive working environments.
Building trust and credibility, becoming someone clients genuinely value having in their corner.
About you
We're looking for an experienced HR professional who loves the people side of HR just as much as the technical side.
You'll ideally have a strong generalist HR background, with experience gained in a fast-paced, high-volume environment such as retail, hospitality, manufacturing or supply chain.
You don't necessarily need to have worked in a consultancy before. In fact, someone coming from an in-house HR role who enjoys advising, coaching and building relationships could be a fantastic fit.
What really matters is your approach.
You're a natural relationship builder who enjoys getting to know people and their businesses.
You're curious and confident asking questions, rather than jumping straight in with the answers.
You have strong employee relations experience and a good understanding of UK employment legislation.
You're commercially minded and understand that HR advice needs to work in the real world.
You enjoy coaching and empowering managers rather than simply doing everything for them.
You're comfortable working with different personalities, businesses and challenges.
You're organised, adaptable and happy managing your own workload.
Most importantly, you're someone who genuinely cares about doing a great job for your clients and enjoys being part of a close-knit, supportive team.
Why join?
This really is a business that practises what it preaches when it comes to looking after its people.
The team might be small, but there's a real emphasis on supporting one another, enjoying what they do and making sure work fits around life, not the other way around.
You'll benefit from:
Hybrid working with flexibility and a genuine focus on work-life balance.
The opportunity to work with a variety of businesses and build lasting client relationships.
A close-knit, supportive team where everyone is valued.
A business that genuinely invests in and looks after its people.
UK-wide client travel when required, with occasional overnight stays.
A sensible approach to travel, with train journeys encouraged and travel arranged during working hours rather than eating into your personal time.
Plenty of variety, autonomy and the opportunity to make a real difference.
If you're an experienced HR professional who loves building relationships, enjoys coaching others and would like to be part of a business that genuinely values its people, we'd love to hear from you.
