Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Rate of pay: £462.50 - £510 – P/W

Length: Long Term Contract, Temp-Perm opportunity

**About the role**

We are seeking a caring, nurturing and patient Teaching Assistant to join a KS1 Resource Provision, working as part of a dedicated team consisting of two Teaching Assistants and one Teacher. You will support pupils with high levels of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including non-verbal pupils, helping to develop their communication, independence and engagement in learning. Experience using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) or Widgit symbols would be highly beneficial. The successful candidate will be passionate about creating a safe, structured and supportive learning environment, using individualised strategies to meet pupils’ needs and promote positive behaviour. This is a long-term position for the full academic year, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing.

**Role Requirements**

• Supporting Teaching and Learning or Equivalent UK Educational qualification is desirable.
• Previous experience working in Educational is essential.
• A commitment to promoting equality and diversity in the classroom
• Experience supporting SEN is required
• An understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
