About the role
Right across infrastructure, there's a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you're at in your career, with us you'll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.
Where will you be working?
At M Group, we're enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
You’ll work closely with the operational and client teams, helping to resolve data quality issues, improve processes and ensure the team continues to deliver an accurate and efficient service. This is an office-based role, working from our Bootle office.
What will you be doing?
Data Validator
As a Data Validator, you will be responsible for ensuring all completed meter installation jobs are accurately validated in line with contractual requirements, company policies and client standards. Working within a fast-paced operational environment, you will play a key role in maintaining data quality, service excellence and compliance across the end-to-end metering process.
You will manage and process assigned workloads efficiently, ensuring all volumes allocated at the start of each shift are completed within agreed timescales, while also supporting additional workload requirements as directed by the Team Leader. Using your attention to detail and analytical skills, you will identify discrepancies, ensure adherence to client procedures and best operating practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational performance.
The role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders across multiple departments. You will support the Team Leader by highlighting performance trends or issues, helping to ensure the team is effectively represented in operational and performance meetings.
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with client representatives is an important aspect of the role, ensuring a professional, customer-focused approach is delivered at all times. In addition, you will contribute to special projects and undertake other duties as required to support the wider business objectives and operational needs of the team.
What you’ll bring?
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with both people and data, with the confidence to lead a team while maintaining excellent standards of accuracy and delivery. You’ll bring:

- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Able to manage own workloads and priorities
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and data systems
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- An understanding of data protection regulations and compliance standards
It would be great if you have:
- Knowledge of Smart Meter technology and its applications
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting system migrations or process transformation initiatives
