About the role
Morson are recruiting Production Planners on behalf of a leading maritime services defence client based at Portsmouth Naval Base.
Experience required is highly flexible. Those from either maritime/Naval OR engineering planning/TRADE backgrounds will be considered. Ship repair experience would be highly advantageous but not essential. Experience can be highly transferable.
PAY RATES:
31.53 per hour PAYE plus £4.58 per hour holiday pay. Or 42.41 per hour Umbrella/ 37 hours a week / 10 months PLUS/ temp-perm.
Working hours 7.30am-4.15pm Mon-Thursday. Friday 7.30am-12.30. SITE BASED.

Production Planner Role overview:
To convert customer requirements into production ready tasks, suitable for integration into a deliverable project scheduleswhilst remaining simple to prepare and deliver.
General planning and scheduling of ship repair tasks
Liaising with engineers and cost engineers on a daily basis
Experience required (flexible)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications and customer requirements and liaise with customer where necessary to resolve technical issues.
PC literate and competent with Microsoft Excel/Access and able to use an ERP system without supervision to undertake the planning role.
Awareness of general H&S/Environmental regulations and safe working practices
Refit/installation/repair experience in a shipyard environment desirable but not essential
Working knowledge of /Commercial platforms and systems along with MoD systems (desirable) and references for technical data such as BRs etc.
Logical, analytical and structured approach to problem solving
Self management and motivation to identify and deliver tasks within acceptable time frames with minimal guidance and supervision
Able to support other team members and monitor own and team progress against planned delivery and quality targets and to contribute to continuous improvement of the planning function.
Excellent communication skills both verbally / written
